SurgiColl (Surgical Collective) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing significant contributions in the field of surgery. Our mission is to provide a platform for the rapid dissemination of cutting-edge clinical and basic science research that informs and enhances surgical practice worldwide.

 

Our scope specifically focuses on clinical outcomes, novel surgical techniques, and perioperative management, with a dedicated emphasis on pain optimization and opioid stewardship in surgical care. We seek to publish methodologically rigorous manuscripts that provide a clear, actionable advancement over existing knowledge. Submissions are evaluated on their originality and direct clinical relevance, whether achieved through the presentation of original primary data, the validation of new operative techniques, or the comprehensive synthesis of current evidence.

 

We welcome the following types of submissions:

 

Original Research: Both clinical and basic science studies.

Reviews: Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and narrative reviews.

Technical Innovations: Descriptions of new or modified surgical techniques.

Clinical Guidelines: Reports from recognized health organizations or societies.

Case Reports: Unique cases that offer valuable clinical insights.

Scholarly Commentary: Including Letters to the Editor.

SurgiColl leverages the increasing demand for open-access publishing while keeping publishing costs lower and transparent to facilitate access to researchers, educators, and students worldwide.

SurgiColl utilizes an online-only platform thereby avoiding the overhead and costs of print publication, and foregoing the need to partner with traditional publishing houses.

SurgiColl will utilize the highest quality peer review.

SurgiColl values its reviewers by reimbursing them for their time and expertise.

SurgiColl emphasizes transparent publication in a timely manner, ideally within 3-6 months.

PUBLICATION ETHICS

At SurgiColl, upholding the highest standards of publication ethics is an integral part of our aims and scope. We are committed to ensuring transparency, integrity, and accountability at every stage of the publication process. Our journal strictly adheres to the guidelines and core practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). We expect all contributing authors, peer reviewers, and editorial staff to maintain these standards to promote rigorous, unbiased peer review, protect intellectual property, and foster trust within the global surgical community.

 

PUBLICATION FEE

SurgiColl operates under a "Diamond" Open Access model. There are absolutely no submission fees, and we do not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs). The journal provides free, universal, and immediate access to all peer-reviewed content upon publication, without any subscription barriers or paywalls.
